THE MEN ON THE MOVE INITIATIVE

From entrepreneurs to developers, marketing managers, CEOs and policymakers – all of our 3,000+ attendees are looking to stay on top of the latest trends

OUR SUCCESS STORY

The inaugural Men on the Move Conference, held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at the Jogor Center, Ibadan, marked a historic moment, bringing together over 3,000 men across generations. This first-of-its-kind event, organized by a consortium of faith-based organizations led by Convener Gbeminiyi Eboda, aimed to create a platform for men to rise, thrive, and lead.
The day unfolded with a dynamic lineup, kicking off with thought-provoking plenary sessions featuring prominent keynote speakers Femi Atoyebi (SAN) and Olakunle Soriyan. The energy surged as attendees participated in six insightful breakout sessions held in adjoining facilities

Our mission?

Our mission is to empower men to rise, thrive, and lead. We achieve this by:
• Creating a safe space for men to connect, share experiences, and learn from each other.
• Providing access to resources and tools for personal and professional development.
• Promoting positive mental health and well-being.
• Challenging traditional stereotypes of masculinity.
• Fostering a sense of belonging and community

Our Guiding Principles

Inclusivity: We welcome men of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences.
Respect: We create a safe space for open and honest conversations.
Empowerment: We provide men with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
Collaboration: We believe in working together to build a stronger future for men.

Men on the Move Initiative

In furtherance of the goals of ‘Men on the Move Initiative’, the visioner and convener, of the initiative , Revd Gbeminiyi Eboda, led a convergence of men from all walks of life on an impactful visit to Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan on Monday 26th August, 2024.

The visit which had the aim of helping men rise, thrive, and lead; was to contribute to the well-being of the inmates, and be a beacon of hope to them.
The team donated essential drugs including antimalarials, antibiotics, injections, syringes, nose masks, kits and other materials that would facilitate the treatment of the inmates to make them sickness free.

In a remark, the convener, Revd Gbeminiyi Eboda, while making the presentation said ‘Men on the Move Initiative’, would not shy away from identifying with men in whatever situation, as men were becoming endangered species.
Rev’d Eboda stressed that if the man is fixed, the society will be fixed.

The Assistant Controller of Corrections Odunlami, Agodi Correctional Facility, accompanied by other officers of the facility, thanked Revd Gbeminiyi Eboda and the ‘Men on the Move’ delegation. He spoke on the State of the Facility and other areas of need (which include vehicles, electricity, alternate power generation, learning and education facilities including volunteer teachers, health facilities and personnel, pro-bono representations in court, payment of fines and legal fees, beddings and among others.
